After breakfast, around 7 a.m., your safari guide will pick you up from your hotel. From there, we’ll head off to the incredible Tarangire National Park, known for its large elephant herds and baobab trees.

Tarangire is especially spectacular during the dry Season (June-November) as wildlife concentrations rival that of the Serengeti (since enormous populations of elephants and other animals are drawn to the Tarangire River as their only source of water). With its varied habitats and permanent water in the Tarangire River, the park is home to over 2000 elephants and 500 birds
species.

Prepare for an unforgettable experience as you enjoy game drives through the park, where you’ll have the chance to spot an array of wildlife in their natural habitat. It’s a day full of adventure, wildlife sightings, and breathtaking scenery!

In the evening, we’ll return to the lodge for a delicious dinner. Afterward, enjoy a restful night’s sleep, ready for another exciting day ahead!

serengeti national parkDay 7 – Serengeti National Park

The Serengeti is one of the most famous and spectacular national parks in the world, known for its vast landscapes and incredible wildlife. It’s a UNESCO World Heritage site and home to the Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles travel across the plains in search of food and water. It is also home to the “Big Five” – lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, and rhinos,  along with a diverse range of other animals, from cheetahs and giraffes to hippos and crocodiles.

Day 8 – Serengeti → Ngorongoro Crater – Karatu

In the morning, we’ll leave the Serengeti and head to the Ngorongoro Crater. Often called the “eighth wonder of the world,” this vast caldera, formed over 2 million years ago, is home to diverse wildlife, including elephants, flamingos, and the rare black rhino. With its acacia forests, hippo-filled swamps, and open grasslands, the crater offers an incredible safari experience, where you’ll also see the Maasai grazing their cattle alongside the wild animals.

Zanzibar is known for its spices, so no trip to this East African island is complete without embarking on one of the famous spice tours. You’ll go on a guided tour to some of the famous plantations that produce cloves, henna, rose
apples, guava, cinnamon, and vanilla. We’ll learn about the medicinal purposes of potent herbs and how the history of the spice trade influenced the development of modern Zanzibar.

The sunset cruise will excite you as you’ll get a good glimpse of the wonderful scenes of the Indian Ocean along the Stone Town shoreline.

spice tourDay 14 – Stone Town & Prison Island (Zanzibar)

After an early breakfast, we’ll head to Stone Town, around 8:30 a.m., for a guided two-hour tour through its UNESCO-listed streets. We’ll explore the vibrant bazaars, historic buildings, and cultural landmarks like the Old Fort, House of Wonders, and Darajani Market. After the tour, we’ll stop for lunch – possibly at Luqman Restaurant, before continuing to Prison Island.

After lunch, we’ll take a short boat ride to Prison Island (Changuu Island), just 20 minutes from Stone Town. Originally used as a detention center for rebellious slaves in the 1860s and later as a quarantine station, the island is now a peaceful getaway. You’ll meet the island’s famous giant tortoises – some over 100 years old- brought from the Seychelles in the 19th century. Enjoy time to relax on the white-sand beach, swim, or snorkel in turquoise waters.

stone townDay 15 – Dolphin Adventure & Jozani Forest (Zanzibar)

After an early breakfast, around 6 am, we’ll head to Kizimkazi for a Dolphin Tour. The village’s coastline is home to pods of humpback and bottlenose dolphins. You’ll have the chance to spot them, and if lucky, swim alongside them, in their natural habitat. There’s also time for snorkeling in the clear Indian Ocean before heading back to shore.

Next, we’ll explore Jozani Forest, a protected area in the heart of Zanzibar. This lush forest is part of the Jozani-Chwaka Bay National Park and is best known for the endangered Kirk’s red colobus monkeys, found only in Zanzibar. The walk through the forest takes about two hours.

After the tour, we’ll return to our hotel in Stone Town to rest and freshen up.
