Slovenia is one of the most underrated countries in Europe. This tiny jewel has everything -The Alps, rivers, lakes, caves and the sea. Because of its spectacular nature and a surprisingly enormous number of breathtaking views, it’s a must-visit country.
I spent 5 days in Slovenia and it was just enough time to get a taste of this beautiful country. Nights out in Metelkova-one of the coolest neighbourhoods in Ljubljana, breathtaking views of the Bled lake and chilling out at the beach in Piran, are just some of the reasons to visit Slovenia.
Thanks to its very friendly people, wonderful nature and beautiful Venetian architecture, I fell in love with this tiny country and it was one of the best trips I’ve ever had. I can’t even say what was the highlight of my trip since I loved all the places I visited. If I visit Slovenia again, I won’t miss any of them.
Ljubljana was my starting point, and it’s a great place to be based in Slovenia for day trips to other places in the country. Also, the city itself has a lot to offer. Beautiful architecture, nice views of the city, the alternative scene, lots of nice bars and restaurants, and a lot more.
If you are into hanging out and art and you want to have a unique experience at an alternative place, then you have to visit Metelkova neighbourhood in Ljubljana.
After you feel the spirit of Ljubljana, you can go on a day trip to Bled. The picturesque lake Bled is a place that attracts the most tourists, and it can’t be missed. There are many buses that go there from Ljubljana, and the journey takes one hour and a half.
Lastly, the trip wouldn’t be complete without visiting the beautiful Slovenian coast. And the best choice is Piran, a beautiful town with Venetian architecture and the amazing sunsets.
